Qateel Shifai (قتیل شفائی ) was a great poet of the 20th century. His name was Muhammad Aurangzeb. He was a popular Urdu language poet from Pakistan. He was born on 24 Dec 1919 and died on 11 July 2001 at the age of 81.
He wrote hundreds of Ghazals and song lyrics for both the Indian and Pakistani film industry. His poetry has been translated into several languages.
He wrote songs for almost 201 films. He received Pride of Performance by the Pakistani government for his great contribution in Urdu literature. His poetry is still popular in Pakistan and all around the world.
